The lubricity of methanol: a critical parameter for the marine sector

Methanol is gaining prominence as an alternative marine fuel, but its naturally low lubricity requires precise testing to ensure safe performance in engines and fuel systems. With the new ISO 6583:2024 standard and the provisional IP PM FK method, the industry is moving towards the standardisation of these tests.
