This application note presents the analysis of halogens (F, Cl, Br) and sulfur in waste organic solvents using CIC technology, which combines humidified oxidative pyrolysis and suppression ion chromatography. The CIC-5000 / AQF-5000H system enables complete combustion and the quantitative transfer of the generated gases, ensuring accuracy and reproducibility in complex matrices. The results obtained in waste solvents show distinct concentrations of halogens and a high sulfur content, demonstrating the method’s usefulness for waste characterization, advanced elemental analysis, and regulatory compliance in industrial settings.
