Highly sensitive UV fluorometer for real-time in situ detection of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAH), CDOM, Tryptophan-type fluorescence (TLF), and organic matter: BOD, COD, etc.
Its robust and compact design and the high sensitivity of its fluorimetric sensor, which corrects interferences due to turbidity and reflection of ambient light, make it suitable for use in both natural and waste water treatment works, being able to be used both for surface measurements and for measuring at depths of up to 1000 m.
Applications:
The UviLux sensor detects UV fluorescence. When certain dissolved aromatic compounds absorb UV light at a certain wavelength, they re-emit a fraction of this energy as fluorescence at lower wavelengths. The intensity of this fluorescence is directly proportional to the concentration.
This technique is widely recognized as one of the most sensitive detection methods available.
UviLux sensors use a stabilized UV LED light source and a photomultiplier detector to provide exceptional measurement sensitivity.
Thus they can detect a wide range of compounds even at very low concentrations. Sophisticated and comprehensive electronic signal processing combined with an appropriate design makes it able to operate perfectly in high ambient light conditions.
The high quality optical filtration used in the excitation and emission optical steps provides excellent turbidity correction.
