The SINDIE Analyzer uses monochromatic wavelength dispersive X-ray fluorescence technology for fast and accurate analysis of sulfur content in petroleum products in continuous mode.
The analyzer methodology complies with ASTM D7039-07.
To generate the X-ray beam for analysis, a high voltage power supply is used to excite an X-ray vacuum tube. The patented X-ray optics focus the X-rays on the sample, and the resulting sulfur fluorescence is captured by a detector. A PLC is used to control the measurement process, accumulating X-ray counts from the detector and converting the counts into a weight concentration measurement. Many other electrical components and sensors are also used.
NO RADIACTIVE SOURCE IS USED, therefore, no X-rays are present unless power is supplied.
The analyzer is classified for use in an ATEX Zone 1, Category 2G hazardous area. To achieve the appropriate level of safety in such an environment, it incorporates the use of a Type X purge system controller.
