SonTek's ADV (Acoustic Doppler Current Meter) gauging equipment is a high performance system. In hydrology, ADVs are used as the classic windlasses in gauging by wading (or operated by means of bars from a gangway). By using ADV it is possible to know the value, at the moment, of the flow rate through a section, as well as other parameters of special interest such as the area, velocity distribution, as well as the angles and temperature of the flow.
