- Equipment for determination of lubricity in diesel fuels
- Lubrication and friction capacity depletion test for the evaluation of lubricants, additives, especially designed for those with low lubrication capacity, fuel oils, etc...
- Approved by CEC and ISO as a standard test for diesel lubricity.
- Developed by Exxon Paramins
Operating principle:
Controlled friction of the test ball against a fixed disc immersed in the fluid to be tested, maintained at a controlled temperature.
Observation of the wear produced by metallographic microscopy.
Requires:
- Humidity probe.
- Computer system with HFRSOFT software
- Kit of 100 upper specimens - balls - and 100 lower specimens - discs.
- High lubricity reference fluid (A), 500 ml.
- Low lubricity reference fluid (B), 500 ml
- Microscope for lubricity, with calibrated micrometer, PCS
