The Ampha X30 from Amphasys is a cell counter and analyser based on impedance flow cytometry (IFC), which enables the rapid, marker-free acquisition of multi-parameter information on individual cells.

In a single measurement, it provides information on cell count and concentration, viability and metabolic status, enabling a more detailed understanding of the state of cell cultures and the detection of changes in cell populations.

The technology analyses the electrical properties of each cell at different frequencies, yielding information relating to cell size and volume, membrane integrity and cytoplasmic conductivity. By using electrical detection rather than optical detection, it can also operate with turbid, opaque or autofluorescent environments.

The Ampha X30 is suitable for the analysis of bacteria, yeasts, algae, and human and animal cells, with applications in R&D, bioprocess development and monitoring, production and quality control.
