The new VD10 distiller revolutionizes distillation testing by bringing unmatched automation and accuracy to the analysis of atmospheric distillation of petroleum products according to ASTM D86.
The video camera-assisted algorithm applies an optimal heating of the flask based on a real-time analysis of the sample behavior in the flask. The VD10 visually monitors all phases of sample boiling. Thanks to real-time image analysis, it anticipates and predicts the optimal heater configuration to respect the standard method conditions for IBP (initial boiling point), 5% times and distillation rate control.
No programming or optimization required, perfect distillation is executed right out of the box even for unknown or difficult samples such as biofuels.

Operation:
The intelligent video system assists the operator by verifying proper installation of the flask, probe and hot plate.
The VD10 advanced control algorithm uses image analysis to perfectly control the distillation cycle.
No programming or optimization required
The entire procedure is fully automated: heating the flask, regulating the condenser and receiver temperatures, measuring vapor temperatures and volume, detecting IBP, FBP and recording all data. At the end of the assay, the heater is automatically lowered and rapidly cooled. Results are displayed, saved, printed and sent to LIMS.
