This new module allows for the customisation of automated sample preparation based on the pyro-hydrolytic combustion of solid, liquid or gaseous samples and their subsequent absorption into a solution prepared in the GA-500 module.
These solutions can be analysed using any other analytical method, or reanalysed using the system’s own independent ion chromatograph.
The online connection with the system and the ion chromatograph enables automatic analysis and collection of the excess solution. This creates a high-performance system that allows the automation of up to 49 solid or liquid samples and, in the case of gases and LPGs, repeated combustion, thereby achieving a lower quantification limit.
Important points to consider when storing the absorbent solution:
- In unknown matrices, unexpectedly high results allow for reanalysis with an appropriate dilution of the absorbent solution without the need to repeat the preparative process.
- The work and operation of combustion associated with ion chromatography, known as CIC, can be automated without the need for an ion chromatograph specifically connected to the system. This point is particularly relevant when the user has operating methods that involve an ion chromatograph with an autosampler already integrated into it.
- This independence allows the work to be structured by differentiating between preparation on one day and storage and determination by ion chromatography on the next.
- The prepared solutions can be analysed by methods other than ion chromatography.
- The system can be connected or disconnected from the ion chromatograph when required by the customer and their sample volume.
