Practical demonstration of the SurfBee autonomous platform.

During the SMAGUA Fair, and in collaboration with the Confederación Hidrográfica del Ebro, Instrumentación Analítica-INSTRU and SonTek – a Xylem Brand, we carried out a practical workshop on SONTEK’s ADCP (Doppler profilers) gauging tools, as well as presenting the innovative SurfBee autonomous platforms.

At the event, we shared experiences on the use of SONTEK gauging equipment and had the opportunity to observe in action the SurfBee platform, which is compatible with the Sontek M9, S5, RS5 and YSI EXO quality probes. SurfBee platforms stand out for their ability to operate efficiently in shallow water, thanks to their three subsea thrusters.

These platforms feature autonomous lateral movement, making them exceptionally maneuverable tools in demanding conditions, both at low speeds and at higher speeds, reaching up to 4 m/s. This ensures reliable performance and accurate data collection, thus facilitating field work.
