Mandatory testing for PFAS and total fluoride in packaging starting in August 2026

Regulation (EU) 2025/40 requires, effective August 2026, that PFAS and total fluorine be tested in all packaging. Intentional PFAS are prohibited, strict limits are set for non-polymeric PFAS, and justification is required for any total fluorine content exceeding 50 ppm. The CIC technique enables the traceable measurement of total PFAS and total fluorine, and the AQF5000 systems offer a straightforward solution for meeting these requirements.
